NStar Energy Pilot - Set Point Thermostat

The thermostat is one of the most important devices used to control your home energy network. The Set Point is a smart thermostat that communicates with your smart meter and the Vantage Portal, to help you understand, manage and control the energy consumption in your home.
With the Set Point you can set your own energy management rules to help you control home temperature settings throughout the day. It can save you money without sacrificing comfort. Not all participants will receive The Set Point Programmable Thermostat. (Video, Thermostat Guide)

The thermostat needs to be installed by an electrician since the unit isn't battery operated. The thermostat has backlit screen looks very which is very bright at night. You can also choose to not have the thermostat installed which would put you on a different program.I have my thermostat set to heat at 70 and cool at 78.

Not quite true. The thermostat is powered by the same transformer that (any) thermostat uses to control the heat and/or AC. You do need to have a separate 12V wire coming from the A/C transformer, but many installations already have that wire in the bundle - it may just not be connected at the A/C unit.
