Result of my Renew Boston Energy Audit
The folks at Next Step Living came to my place to perform an energy audit through the Renew Boston program. This is completely free since we actually pay for this through our utilities like NStar or National Grid.
The audit was thorough, they answered all my questions. They took over an hour to examine for air leaks, water heater, a/c and appliances.

Renew Boston Program
I signed up for the Renew Boston program in order to save energy and save money. This is also a requirement for the solar rebate program. Renew Boston includes a comprehensive home energy assessment and up to $3,500 in energy upgrades. If you meet the eligibility requirements you could receive the same no-cost energy efficiency improvements. This will help you lower your energy bills, increase the value of your home, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We received an e-mail and phone call to confirm our appointment on 9/27/11.

Free Energy Assessment for Boston Residents
The City and its partners provide qualifying residential
customers with low-hassle, no-cost home energy assessments and free
efficiency upgrades including insulation, air sealing, water saving
devices and high-efficiency light bulbs.
What should I expect during the home energy assessment?
On the day of the home energy
assessment, one of Renew Boston’s professional energy partners will
complete a home analysis to identify weatherization
options. Following the results of this analysis, Renew Boston
contractors will then provide up to $3,500 for air sealing and
insulation services.
