Sungevity - Step 1 of 8

I had my in-site visit on 8/17/11 at 9AM which almost took 3 hours. An installer representing Sungevity and their authorized installer Invest Electrical were on hand to take a look. They were concerned because our unit is part of a condo association but they got authorization to do the work.

First, they took a look at the electric panel and uncovered it to take pictures. They wanted to see exactly where NStar connects and the power meter.

The majority of time was spent on my roof to take measurements. It was a hot day but they were out there for awhile take dimensions of the roof. They also had a tool which take a look at the orientation of the roof to measure the suns path, shade to figure out how much sunlight I would expect to receive during the year.

They also took a look at my unit in order to determine the internet connection and to figure out how much load the roof could sustain. They did this by taking out one of my recessed lights, from there they saw what size rafters were in place at the spacing apart. They said it could hold a lot of weight but didn't give me an exact estimate.
